 Twitter/Instagram - Personal Learning Network I've used instagram in my personal life and it has become a part of my personal learning network over the years as a resource for researching information and also to inspire me  with new ideas in my personal life. I've been interacting with a few teachers that are also "influencers" plus a few suggested by the professor of EME 2040. My cousin is also a teacher and has made a few recommendations as well of people to follow and use as resources and inspiration. I've found twitter beneficial as well, deciding to use twitter rather than instagram for the assignment in order to expand my horizons. I'm not entirely sure how this will aid me in the future more than it already has thus far but it could be more helpful as the social media platforms evolve. Standards and Technology Matrices for ELA One of the standards for grades 6 through 8 is Hardware and Software understanding that requires full comprehension of the many components of a computer. Students should be able  to distinguish between computer parts (identifying their characteristics), explain the function of each component, and evaluate issues to implement software and hardware fixes through step-by-step processes. Based on my current skill set, I think that I would need some additional education to be able to teach this standard accurately and with learning retention by the student body. I have some knowledge of the components of a computer and how they work, but this is mainly in the realm of software not hardware, and in order to keep up with innovation and this generation's learning techniques, I will need some additional training in this area. Blog Journal 10

New Skills From working on Assignment 5, I learned more on how to link icons and control how a powerpoint can be viewed outside of regular navigation. I learned more on how to manipulate text boxes and create a particular layout for the powerpoint slides which was very interesting to discover as I've always used the plain format given when clicking for a new slide. I did not care for the way that I had to be incredibly particular and detail-oriented to make each button work and navigate to where I desired and not follow regular navigation in the slideshow. To improve on this assignment next time, I think that I would dedicate more time to perfect the vision I had for the review game I created and to also include more information for each slide for students to review information that they answered incorrectly on the questions.
